Participation in the SGNCS International Symposium "Solidarities and Shifting Alliances" in Paris 2026

The Society for Global Nineteenth Century Studies (SGNCS) International Symposium "Solidarities and Shifting Alliances" was held at the University of London Institute in Paris from 17 to 19 June 2026. Bringing together scholars from universities in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia, the symposium explored the alliances, conflicts and networks that shaped the nineteenth century and continue to inform contemporary scholarship. In seventeen panels, participants examined an extremely wide range of topics, including imperial diplomacy, transnational political movements, oceanic and sea worlds, colonial governance, environmental humanities, literary cosmopolitanism, knowledge diffusion across borders, and more.

Dr. Aleksandar Zlatanov participated in the scientific forum.
